Father of a happy family starts seeing things and going crazy as they move
into a new house with sinister history. Chloe is pretty as the daughter,
and especially endearing in the extras of the DVD.

Dakota's poorest role. The director probably had no idea what he wanted
Dakota to do. The rest of this fairytale gives the same disfavorable
impression. The highlight is Dakota's weirdest expression ever (see the
screenshot).

Although Tom Green makes a funny-looking butler Bob, nothing in his central
role in this comedy made me more than smirk weakly. Genevieve, who looks
well below her age, is a wonderfully evil tween. If you're going to watch
this because of Genevieve (which is a worthy idea), check out her better,
earlier movie Saint Monica first.

A rather tiring family adventure. Twelve-year-old Kirsten Dunst is among
the main characters, but even she can only do so much with such poor
writing.

A straightforward spoofing movie, parodying mainly War of the Worlds, with a fair
amount of material from several other popular movies. Conchita does a good
job spoofing War of the World's Rachel, who was played by Dakota. I'm a fan
of both of the girls, and quite enjoyed Conchita's role, although it's at
most 5 minutes of screen time.

A very modern version of the old tale, aimed for preteen girls. A
grandmother comes baby sit an early teen girl (Morgan) and her little
brother, and entertains them by reading the Little Red Riding Hood story,
except modified for the current day. The girl imagines being the heroine of
the story, and similarly for the other two people present; this Red has a
little brother. Even the oh so handsome hunter shows up before end of the
movie, which event, although hardly exciting, comes as close to the climax
of this movie as it gets. The style of humor is mostly suited for children,
but the age of the heroine and some mild sexual overtones indicate the
intended audience is early teenagers. There are also plenty of references
to modern day teen culture, such as the grandmother tying up her phone by
flirting in an internet chatroom.
The budget must have been tight, with low production values and quite
unpolished acting. Morgan has a degree of natural charm and makes a fine
Red, independent and teeny, but there's not much character development or
even close-up shots. Morgan is the only possible reason to invest 80
minutes of your life on this movie.

aka Maladolescenza
Highly controversial due to showing plenty of early teenager nudity, this
unsettling coming of age story is regarded as a masterpiece by some, and
exploitative junk by others. The first day of their summer holiday, Laura
(Lara) and Fabrizio meet at the edge of a forest, as they have done in
years past, to spend the summer together in the woods. Fabrizio has however
changed, and seems now only interested in abusing Laura psychologically, to
the extent of tying her to the ground and releasing a snake on her. Laura,
unbelievably, stays with Fabrizio despite everything, apparently too
attracted to him.
This is the only major plot element until Fabrizio meets another early
teenage girl Silvia (Eva), who, unlike soft Laura, is every bit as evil and
dominating as Fabrizio. Silvia is a willing sex partner for Fabrizio, and
Laura is relegated to subserviency and object of malice. They even force
Laura to watch while having sex, another way of asserting the pecking
order. Plenty of skin is shown, including breasts, pubic hair and more.
Closeups are excluded from our screenshots and video clip.
The actresses perform decently, but due to their age are almost completely
out of scope for this site, and so are given low scores. Regardless, Eva
impresses with her uniquely cold, evil and erotic look. Eva is also famous
for having been a model in her mother's erotic photographs from the age of
five, and for having appeared in Italian Playboy at the age of 11.
The direction has plenty of elementary flaws. There are very confusing
temporal jumps, and in many scenes characters are not in the least
credible. The ending completely fails to have any emotional impact or to
bring a feeling of closure, violating the simplest rules of drama.
Nonetheless, if early teenager sexuality and cruelty are taboos for you,
the movie does have impact. That is its largest merit by far.

Directed by John Duigan (Lawn Dogs), actors
including Mischa and Jessica Alba – yet
this movie is a failure. A beautiful model (Alba) discovers she's been
drugged and raped, and is not allowed to leave the house. An
underachievement in every way, except Mischa's role as a mute, mildly
retarded girl is worth checking out for her fans.

That Night is not a good movie. The main attraction to me was Eliza, whom I
had come to know through Buffy the Vampire Slayer. There is no striking
similarity between the younger and older Elizas, which was something of a
disappointment to me. In this movie, Eliza plays Alice Bloom, a girl with
little in way of friends and lacking love from parents. Alice greatly
admires a beautiful older girl Sheryl O'Connor (Juliette Lewis) living
across the street, and, cutely for a young girl, becomes something of a
stalker. The two befriend, and Eliza starts tagging along with Sheryl and
her boyfriend Rick. Sheryl's parents disapprove of Rick, and make an
attempt to prevent Sheryl from seeing him anymore, ergo a recipe for the
mild climax of the movie.
The events as well as the characters failed to spark my interest, and I
would have stopped watching altogether had not Eliza, who made her debut in
this movie, had a fairly large role.

An family movie with a seal named Andre in the main role. Very much a kids'
movie, with little to offer for older viewers. Tina stands out as the one
with skill and charm.
